Perfect for lunch during weekdays. I love their enchiladas. Service is fast and food is great. The waiters are always nice and helpful. Beware, it may be quickly full for lunch and parking is limited but never an issue. I hundred percent recommended this place, especially because their quality / price ratio is very good.

If I lived near here this would be my go-to Texmex spot. The food was fast, service was friendly and the flavor was excellently fresh. I really enjoyed my food and the beef fajitas are recommended. Also try chimichanga with queso. Great stuff for a growing boy like myself.

This was one of the worst Mexican food I have ever had in my life. The chips served were oily and salsa was just spicy and lacked any flavor. We ordered nachos which came with just chips topped with cheese and beans and jalapeños on the side and was pathetic and totally bland. For the main course, I got veggie quesadillas which were wrapped in thick tortillas with loads of cheese that tasted sour and not fresh at all. I usually don't waste food, but I could barely eat a piece of quesadillas. Not being a Mexican, I have made far far better quesadillas at home. I would stay miles away from this place.

Authentic and delicious. They start with a bottomless chips and salsa. The salsa is addictive but be cautious - it is on the spicy side. Portions are large enough that you won't leave hungry and the prices are very reasonable. Most importantly, the flavors are spot on. One of my favorite Dallas food spots.

This was fantastic. The chips and salsa were very good. I really liked the salsa. It is only a little spicy off the bat an then grows into a nice heat. There were four of us and between us we all thought the food was delicious. The service was very good as well. I'm not from the area but I will try to stop by again.

Homemade food with good quantity and quality. Really home may make you feel like Mama's back there in the kitchen cooking for you. Beware of the salsa that they put on your table at first because it is super hot. Lol This is a very special restaurant to have special memories. It's very cozy and family oriented. Enjoy

Great little restaurant. It was features in diners, drive throughs, and dives and it was well worth the visit. Good Mexican food and great atmosphere.

The salsa is excellent!!! The food was really great and came out in a timely manner. The service was really good as well and I liked the interior. 👍

I will start with the seating. I don't mind cozy restaurants but this was way too close for comfort. It's too many tables and chairs for the space they have. The food on the other hand is absolutely delicious. It was seasoned and the presentation was nice. The waitress staff was very attentive and I didn't have to look for them when I needed anything. I will definitely be eating here again.

Randomly found this place and really enjoyed it. The chili releno was good, the rice was excellent, but I really enjoyed their salsa (perfectly spicy) and their mole. Prices were great too. Plenty of parking even on a Friday evening around 6.

Wonderful! Get yourself a margarita at 3 pm to wash down the hotter than heck itself salsa. Shrimp quesadilla and chicken quesadilla are off the chain..in fact, get two margaritas and call it a day. The food is fresh and the atmosphere is mega relaxing. Good date night, man date approved.

Beef fajita nachos were exceptionally delicious, the quality of meat were tender and seasoned just right. They grilled onion and red bell peppers that kicked up the flavor a notch. The Papito’s Special had a nice variety and everything was good. The queso was excellent as was the salsa (although hot). Some of the staff was great, but some not. The bathroom was disgusting with urine on the seat and floor. Great place to eat just use the bathroom elsewhere.

Very hospitable staff, and amazing food! The salsa is muy caliente and authentic, which is what it gives me a good first impression on great Mexican.

Another great TexMex spot in Dallas. I've been in 3 times because the enchiladas keep calling me back. I get the create your own (2 or 3 ) enchiladas combo. You pick your meat and your sauce. All chicken for me. 1 with tomatillo sauce, 1 with sour cream sauce, and 1 with Poblano Sour Cream sauce. The spice with the rich cream sauce is perfect.

Food was great we came here cuz it was on DDD . Salsa hot , guacamole creamy and fast fast service.

Wonderful establishment! Small and cozy. Very nice home feel. Add to its character. Quick and nice staff. Food is delish! Well priced and beers cold. These chips and salsa though. WARNING their salsa is SPICY!! I love spicy and my mouth was cookin! Delicious salsa but I recommend getting your drink before you dig in. You WILL thank me. Definitely will be back! Parking is a little tight but there is some. Great find!

Really glad I decided to come here. there are many choices for good food in the general area but Avila's, from the plentiful parking welcoming vibe great service and Excellent food made coming here worth it. Get the shredded brisket gorditas you will not be disappointed enjoy!

Omg! Such a great find today on our way back to Dallas! Salsa had the right amount of heat, queso was creamy and delicious! I ordered the chicken flautas as and oh my goodness! So juicy and flavorful! Most flautas are dry and too crunchy. These were perfect! 👏🏼👌🏼 We also ordered the enchilada plate and they didn’t disappoint! Definetly recommend Avila’s. And I am sure all the other food will be great as well!!!

It's one of the best places to have chicken posole , not to mention all food is great there!!

Chicken Mole and Gorditas were very authentic. Rice and beans are muy rico. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely going back.

The food was really good. The inside is small. The hot sauce was really pepper to us. We ate at lunch and felt rushed to open up our seats.

Some of the best chicken fajitas I've ever had. Haven't tried the beef yet. Got the chicken and shrimp combo for lunch and loved every bite. The shrimp didn't have a lot of flavor but wasn't over cooked so no real complaints there. Chips and salsa with the margaritas were really good too. Will definitely be back.Edit. Second time visiting the shrimp had much more flavor.

One of the best fajita platters I have eaten in a while.Place is really small and bit crowded, so not great for conversations. But has good food. Service is great.

Avila's is a tiny locally run restaurant. If you want authentic Mexican food YOU MUST go here. The food was incredible. Major depth of flavor. The pozole is incredible. Brisket taco was BOMB. I got the Triple D combo and it INCLUDED BOTH along with a pork tamale. Huge portions. I took my leftovers back to my hotel to munch on after I went out for drinks. Yum! Quick Uber ride from downtown Dallas. It doesn't seem touristy at all and the decor is classic Mexican ambiance with brightly colored walls and flags. It's truly a must when dining out in Dallas.

Good location for texmex. i love this place. the staff was friendly and observant. prices are fair i would say.

The food was good. But let me say. I ordered it through grub hub. And had 2 sodas delivered with my food. 2.25 for a cup full of ice and about 8 ounces of soda. Not to mention the Sprite was out. It should have been a 20oz bottle for that price. And for that reason alone I wont order again.

The food and service is always very good here. They have my favorite chips and salsa in town. Worst part is sometimes trying to find a parking spot can be difficult when they're busy.

First thing we noticed was how friendly the staff was when we entered. They were knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful. Salsa was delicious, but beware, very hot! My husband loves hot salsa so he was in heaven. Definitely get the 7 layer dip over the queso as it is much much better. Their brisket was cooked to perfection, and honestly all of their meat was cooked deliciously. We had a great experience and will definitely be making another visit.

This spot is worth visiting. They serve large portions for reasonable rates. Regularly clean and with good mood. I highly recommend this place.
